missing out

Ok, I know I've been neglecting my blogger duties, but really, I've had good reason!!! A new girlfriend, a new job PLUS the old one, has resulted in not a lot of free time to be blabbering on about things I'm only partially informed about. Case in point: The 34 day war that has apparently been called off in Lebanon/Isreal. Who knew that there still existed countries in this world that were willing to go to battle for a single soul?!?!?! I mean really! Not since the days of Helen of Troy has there been a war set off by one person... unless you count WWI which was instigated by the death of that prince.... Ferdinand or something.
What blows me away in this case though, is how the so-called international community has responded by addressing the parties involved. Kofi Anan did great things by condemning Hezbollah.... COME ON! That's among the most rediculous things I've ever heard! What does your average Hezbollah fighter care about how Kofi thinks of them? I'll tell you what: NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH, ZIP, NIL, NICHTS! That would be like your local rowdies down at the pub not getting into drunken barfights over the only pretty girl in th place because "Kofi Anan frowns upon violence." I mean PLEASE, if my Uncle were to get gunned down by an Isreali attack party while taking out his garbage, stigma's be damned, I'll launch my total half german being at the Isreali bastards that killed my uncle. I'm not taking sides here, it's just that we've got to understand that there is more than one story in play...
