I'm a bad man...

Hello all,
'Tis time for me to throw my hat in the ring again... My ire is raised this time by the recent budget media frenzy. You may have heard in the run-up to the budget (assuming your rear was not full of your head) that it was an 'election budget.' Apparently, the labelling of a budget as an 'election budget' in which the intent of the budget is meant to boost the likeability of the party who wrote the budget in the event of an election shortly after the budget comes down, somehow makes it different from ANY OTHER FREAKIN' BUDGET in this country...

In all the reports and articles I read on the then up-coming budget, not ONE POLITICIAN was quoted as expecting a spring election as a result of a botched budget, yet the MEDIA decided that it was likely and spent a conspicuously long time commenting on the possibility of the budget causing an election... Methink thou advocateths too much... So much for an independant media. Don't worry, I've never really believed the major media sources in this or any other counrty to be especially independant or unbiased. I just like the thought of it once in a while.

Another bit about the budget melee that miffed me, was that as soon as the NDP and Liberals realized the Bloc were going to support the budget and it was therefore safe for them to oppose it, they climbed over each other to be the first one to oppose the stupid budget. If you don't like the budget, fine; but don't piss on it just cause it's safe! As representitives, they should be looking out for the best interest of their constituents, not acting as politicians and creating divides in the population when there is no need.

I'm a bad man because I should be keeping you all better informed about the many things I'm miffed about, and also I might want to wait til I'm off work to write these things.... But hey, what are Fridays for!??!
